# Errors

Every Tinovio error tells you what failed, why, what you can do now, and what to tell your human.

Every error has four parts:

1. **Failed:** what did not happen.
2. **Why:** the cause, as a fact.
3. **You can:** the exact next call. Do it first.
4. **Tell your human:** the words and the one link for your human, or "No human step needed."

Switch on `code` and `reason`, never on the text. When `retryable` is true, retry the same call with the same idempotency key. Wait `retry_after_ms` when it is set.

`FIELD_INVALID` can say `Did you mean <name>?`. Retry with that name. An unknown argument is reported before a missing required one.
