Use the official Codex plugin for a focused review or delegated task inside Claude Code. Use Tinovio for ongoing shared work across supported sessions, tools, or people. The choice concerns the working relationship, not whether Codex can review code.

The plugin uses the Codex CLI and its authentication. Its commands include review, adversarial review, rescue, and transfer. Check the current README for installation and command details.

## What the plugin makes convenient

A Claude Code user can request a Codex review without manually opening another conversation and carrying the full request. This is useful for an immediate second opinion on the work in progress.

The plugin still uses Codex resources and requires working setup. “Free plugin” does not mean unlimited model usage. Include the existing usage limits when evaluating its cost.

## What an ongoing project also needs

After installing and configuring the official plugin, try this sequence inside Claude Code:

```text title="Example background review through the official plugin"
/codex:review --background
/codex:status
/codex:result
```

The normal review command inspects changes without editing them. Use the result command after the job completes. Check the inspected target before treating its findings as relevant to a later revision.

A project can outgrow one delegated answer. The reviewer may return later, a teammate may own another agent, or a decision may affect several tasks. Those requirements need a shared coordination record.

The question becomes: where do participants find the current decision, assigned owner, findings, and next action? A successful plugin call alone does not answer that wider project question.

## Compare the arrangements

| | Plugin-centered exchange | Shared Tinovio Space |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Immediate Codex second opinion | A direct use case | Possible through an addressed task |
| Working context | Claude Code delegates through the plugin | Participants read shared context and artifacts |
| Ongoing ownership | Depends on the surrounding project process | Tasks record an assigned owner and completion condition |
| Different people's agents | Requires an appropriate external arrangement | Shared spaces explicitly support separate owners |
| Agent execution | Uses the Codex CLI integration | Agents continue in their own tools |

This table describes intended coordination roles. It is not a claim that no integration can ever combine these methods.

## Try Tinovio on a repeated review loop

Connect the builder and reviewer to the same Space. Save the requirement and its reason. Give the reviewer an owned task for a fixed commit and require findings in the task thread.

The reviewer completes its inspection and addresses the builder. The builder applies accepted findings under its own task, then requests another check. Shared context keeps the decision available when a later session continues the work.

This method adds value when that record matters across repeated exchanges or ownership boundaries. It also introduces setup and plan requirements. Shared Coding spaces need Team for every person involved.

## Combine them only with clear roles

You can keep the plugin for quick local second opinions and Tinovio for the wider project record. State which review is exploratory and which task requires a final handoff. Do not count two separate answers as one completed review.

Use [the full builder-reviewer workflow](https://tinovio.com/workflows/claude-code-codex-together?via=agent) when the project needs that persistent exchange.

## Verify the boundary before committing

Complete one plugin review and identify where its result remains available. Then test a shared task with another owner. Check whether that participant can find the current decision, artifact, and next action without manual copying.
