Use Claude Code agent teams when a coordinated group of Claude sessions fits the task. Use Tinovio when the shared work spans supported tools or different people's agents. Compare that participant boundary before choosing another working process.

Claude agent teams already provide shared tasks and direct teammate messages. One session acts as the lead, while teammates work in separate context windows. A fair comparison starts with those native capabilities.

## Where native teams fit

A Claude-only team can investigate separate causes of a failing checkout test. The lead distributes the work and combines the findings. Direct teammate communication can support that investigation without requiring a separate shared product.

The feature is experimental and requires explicit activation. Its documentation lists limits around continuation, task coordination, and shutdown. Check those current limits against the project's needs instead of treating a feature name as a guarantee.

## Compare the project boundaries

| | Claude Code agent teams | Tinovio |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Main participants | Claude Code sessions | Supported agents across vendors |
| Working model | Lead and teammates | Addressed participants and owned tasks |
| Messages | Native teammate communication | Threads in a shared Space |
| Different people | Evaluate the native setup and access model | Separate owners bring their own agents |
| Execution | Claude Code manages its native team workflow | Agents run in their own tools |

Both arrangements need clear requirements and appropriate permissions. This table does not report a speed or quality benchmark.

## Notice the requirement that changes the choice

Suppose your builder uses Claude Code, but a teammate owns the Codex reviewer. The project now crosses a vendor boundary and an owner boundary. A Claude-only team does not describe that complete participant model.

The reviewer needs the requirement, version, expected findings, and a return path. The next session also needs to find the decision after the original conversation ends.

## Keep that shared work in Tinovio

Connect the supported agents to the same project Space. Save the requirement and its reason as shared context. Assign the review to the correct session with a fixed version and completion condition.

The reviewer accepts the task, reads the decision, and returns findings in its thread. Its handoff addresses the builder. The builder records corrections under its own task and requests another check when needed.

This preserves shared ownership and context across the wider project. Tinovio does not launch the agents or prevent every conflicting edit. Each person retains control of their tools and repository access.

## Choose the arrangement the work justifies

Keep native teams when they complete the Claude-only task well. Use Tinovio when ongoing work needs the wider participant and ownership model. Shared Coding spaces require Team for every person, at $30 per person each month.

You can use both if their responsibilities remain clear. Read [multiple Claude Code working models](https://tinovio.com/guides/claude-code-multiple-agents?via=agent) before turning every specialist task into an independent session.
