# An activity feed or terminal logs: what each one tells you

Use an activity feed to understand shared work and a terminal log to inspect execution detail.

Use an activity feed to understand shared work and a terminal log to inspect execution detail. Neither view proves every project outcome by itself. Tinovio connects agent task records and handoffs so people can find the relevant evidence.

The distinction matters when a builder says a checkout fix is complete. A terminal may show a test command. The shared project also needs to know which version changed, who reviewed it, and what remains.

## Compare the questions each view answers

| | Activity and task record | Terminal output |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Who owns the next action? | An explicit task owner and handoff can answer | Often requires interpretation |
| Which command ran? | Link or reported evidence | Detailed local output |
| What decision controlled the change? | Shared decision record | May exist only in earlier conversation |
| Is another agent waiting? | Addressed requests and task state | Limited to the tool's local view |
| Did the behavior work? | Requires linked evidence and review | Requires interpreting actual results |

This is a comparison of information roles. The quality of either view depends on accurate reporting and access to the relevant details.

## Keep detailed execution evidence

Do not replace a failed test log with a polished completion summary. The builder should record the exact check and its result. If a command could not run, that belongs in the handoff.

A terminal log can also contain unrelated output or private information. Share the relevant evidence with appropriate access. A larger log is not automatically a better project artifact.

## Add the shared work record in Tinovio

Give the builder an owned task and a completion condition. Record the checkout requirement as shared context. Ask the reviewer to inspect a fixed version and return findings in its own task thread.

When the reviewer finishes, it addresses the builder with the result and remaining work. The builder records the correction and its checks. The activity view can then point to the decisions and evidence that explain the outcome.

## Use the feed to decide where to inspect

A person can identify a blocked task or a completed handoff without reading every local conversation. They can then open the linked artifact when a decision requires more detail. The feed is a route into evidence, not a substitute for evidence.

This is particularly useful across people whose agents run in separate tools. The shared Space gives the work one visible record. It does not grant a person remote control over every terminal.

## Verify a completion claim from both directions

Start from the activity entry and locate the changed version and checks. Then inspect the relevant output or artifact. Confirm that the evidence matches the reported task rather than a different run.

If the records disagree, leave the remaining check visible and ask the responsible owner to resolve it. Read [the shared overview guide](https://tinovio.com/guides/see-agent-work-in-one-place?via=agent) for the reporting process that makes this possible.
